Welcome to Tomkins Farm – Important Info for a Smooth Stay

We’re delighted to have you with us! To help you settle in and make the most of your stay, here are a few things to know before and during your arrival.

Getting Here

When you turn down Cinder Hill, please make sure you only turn into our driveway.

  • If coming from the A275 turn down Cinder Hill, approx 700m on your right is telegraph pole with a white sign saying Tomkins Farm and Camping at Tomkins Farm. Turn in here.

  • Important: If you don’t see that sign, do not go up the drive – it’s likely the wrong one, and the natives may not be so welcoming!

Pitch Allocation

If arriving on a Friday or Saturday afternoon you will be met on arrival and be given your pitch area/number.

  • When booking you are booking a space not a pitch. We allocate spaces according to booking size. So if you are a group made up of separate bookings you will be given an area rather than individual pitches.

  • You can pitch anywhere around your fire pit, the number on the fence is the centre of your pitch. You are allowed to move the fire pits.

  • For larger groups, we’ll assign a specific area

  • If you arrive between Sunday and Thursday you will need to call on arrival.

On site Catering

The Camels Humps catering facilities are open throughout the summer at weekends.

Saturday AM Breakfast and Coffee cooked to order

Saturday PM Cooked to order Pizza

Sunday AM Breakfast and Coffee cooked to order

We also have a fully Licensed Bar.

Facilities

Our facilities (toilets, showers, etc.) are located at the top of the field near the entrance.

Local Pubs

  • The Five Bells is a great local pub just a 10-minute walk away.

    • It has indoor and outdoor seating.

    • Booking is recommended if you’d like to eat there.

    • ☎️ 01825 722259

  • There are three other pubs in the village of Newick, a 40-minute walk via footpaths or a 10-minute drive.

Fires, Cooking & Firewood

  • Please do not bring your own firewood or kindling – we supply both and come around each evening with bundles.

  • You’re welcome to bring charcoal if you plan to cook.

  • If cooking over your fire pit, please bring a suitable BBQ grill or rack. (Minimum Diameter 300mm)

A Few Friendly Rules (So Everyone Enjoys Their Stay)

  • 🎶 No amplified music is allowed at any time – this is a condition of our planning permission.

    • You’re welcome to use headphones, and any acoustic music must be kept low enough not to disturb others.

  • 🌙 Quiet hours start at 10pm.

    • No shouting, singing, or running around after this time, please.

    • This helps everyone – especially families with young children – get a good night’s rest.

  • 🧒 Children must be back on their pitches by 9pm and under close parental supervision at all times to ensure a safe and peaceful environment for everyone.

If you have any questions or need anything during your stay, don’t hesitate to ask. We’re here to help!

Enjoy your stay at Tomkins Farm – where peace, space, and a taste of country life await.

That’s enough rambling from me.

See you later.
