There are a few things that you might find helpful:
When you arrive and turn down Cinder Hill, please only turn into our driveway. There are a couple of small directional signs directing you to our entrance, then there is a large sign on a telegraph pole opposite our farm entrance saying "Tomkins Farm and Wildings Lakes”. If there is no sign don’t go up the drive! If you do inadvertently drive up the wrong drive you may well be met by one of the less than welcoming natives!
We try to pre allocate pitches before your arrival which will be texted to you but if not we will be onsite when you arrive to point you in the direction of your pitch! If you have your pitch number please go to your pitch . You can pitch anywhere around the fire pits but please don’t move the fire pits. If you are part of a large group then you will be given an area of the campsite for your group. Again please don’t move the fire pits.
The facilities are located at the top of the field near the entrance
Our local pub is the Five Bells (10min walk away). It has outdoor and indoor seating, though you may need to book a table to eat - their number is 01825 722259.
There are three other pubs in the nearby village of Newick which is a 40 minute walk away via the footpaths or a 10 minute drive!
Please do not bring firewood or kindling onto the farm. We supply firewood and kindling which I come around with early evening. If you want to cook on the fire pits you will need to bring a suitable barbeque grill with you. You are welcome to bring charcoal.
A few additional points that should make yours and others stay more relaxed and enjoyable:
-
As a planning permission requirement Campers are not allowed to play any amplified music at any time unless on headphones or similar. Any non-amplified music played must not in anyway cause hassle for your fellow campers.
-
We are a family orientated campsite so from 10pm all campers must be as quiet as possible (no singing, shouting, running about etc) and respectful to others who may be trying to sleep.
-
All children need to be back on their pitches by 9pm and need to under close control of parents so as to minimise causing problems with your fellow campers.
That’s enough rambling from me.
See you later.
Philip
